- My Comments: Back in January 2005, I participated in a Regional Qualifier tournament for a chance to move on to the next round of the Tekken 5 National tournament that was being held. I ended up winning my first match, but lost to the two people that battle in the final round of this Qualifier tournament (one of them being SAB of Tekken Zaibatsu).

Tekken 5 – Regional Qualifier
In this article, I will talk about my experience at a Tekken 5 Regional Qualifier.
Intro On January 22, 2005, I went down to “Pharaoh’s Lost Kingdom” in Redlands, where Namco was holding Regional Qualifier for the Tekken 5 Regional Tournament that will be held in Florida. I started The Tekken series with Tekken 3 back in 2000, but then I was only playing for fun. My first competitive play was at Evolution 2003, and this was only my second competition. It was a great experience.
Event Mode For the tournament, there was a special setting on the machine known as “Event Mode” that was set. The differences that “Event Mode” has from the normal playing mode is listed below:
The Tournament For the tournament, I decided to use my Lei Wulong (“Get Leid”). I won my first match against an Asuka player, but then lost two consecutive matches against a Hwoarang player and a Bryan Fury player. I don’t feel bad at all about my loses because the people that I lost to placed second and third respectively in the tournament. Just incase you were wondering, the winner of the tournament used Baek Doo San. The top 3 finishers in the tournament received the following items: 3rd: Tekken 5 10th Anniversary T-Shirt Also, the winner of the tournament gets a reserved spot for the Tekken 5 Regionals, which will be held at the following location on February 5th, 2005: USA: South West Regional For more info on the Regionals, visit: http://www.tekken.vg/nationals.php
